Eligibility: A person who is not 18 years old must be accompanied by an adult (18 years or older)
Official tournament hours: Tournaments are from 7:00AM to 4:00PM. You may not start the tournament until your boat number is called. You will be notified in advance of any changes to tournament times. The Tournament Administration Center will open at 6:00 am for registration.
Publicity: There may be photos taken during the events. The photos will be the property of the series and may be published on our website or on social media.
Tournament practice and access before events: It is allowed to practice until midnight the day before a tournament. ***For the classic, practice period will end on Monday the 2nd of September, 2019 at 23:59. After which – access to the water body will be strictly forbidden until the Classic on the 7th of September, 2019.
Payment method: The early bird registration fee for the Monde du Bateau Fishing Series, including the classic is $1000. This amount must be paid in full before April 14th, 2019 at le Mondu du bateau, you are all invited at 13 H 00; to be eligible for the start position draw. A team may also register for the series by paying $1000 in full prior to the 1st event. A team that wishes to participate in the series and hasn't paid in full prior to the first event will be considered Walk-On which will incur additional fees for each event. The start position draw will take place at Monde du Bateau (date to be determined). See Walk-On section for more details.
Walk-On: Walk-On registration fees are $250 for the qualification events and $300 for the 2 day classic (eligible teams only). All fees include big fish prize registration.
A team that is "Walk-On" must have fished with the same two fishermen to be eligible for the classic. They must have fished a minimum of three tournaments and have to paid for the 4 tournaments plus the registration for the classic – $1300 in total. A "Walk-On" team is not eligible for the team of the year award.
Lure type: Only artificial lures, including pork rind, can be used during events.
Eligible species: Eligible species are largemouth bass and smallmouth bass. Competitors will bring their 5 biggest bass to the weigh-in. A maximum of 5 bass can be in the boat at any time. Any team that is caught with more than 5 bass in the boat will be disqualified.
Penalty: An 8 ounce penalty will be imposed for each dead fish during weigh-in. A dead fish is not eligible for the lunker prize. A penalty of 1 pound per minute will be imposed for late check-in, with a maximum of 5 minutes at which point the team will be disqualified. Any team that weighs-in a fish that measures less than 12 inches (measurements made from the tip of the nose to the end of the tail) will see this fish be disqualified from weigh-in, the team will also have their biggest fish be disqualified from weigh-in.
Boat and engine: Every boat must be equipped with a functioning live well. All competitors must wear an approved personal flotation device when the boat is propelled by the gas motor. All boats must be equipped with an engine kill switch that must be attached to the driver when boat is in motion.
Insurance: Each boat must be insured and the team must be able to provide proof of insurance at time of registration.
Boat inspection: All boats must be checked by an official before each tournament. If the boat is not inspected, the team will be refused participation in the tournament. When returning to the launch after each tournament, it is the responsibility of each team to check-in with an official upon arrival. The tournament directors reserve the right to complete a boat inspection at any time during tournament proceedings.
Eligible waters: Only waters that can be navigated by boat from the tournament's administration center can be fished during a tournament. It is forbidden to use locks or to leave the watercraft to overcome obstacles. A team may not alter natural structure in order to facilitate access. Doing so would result in disqualification.
Teams must comply with signage limiting access to water due to hazards such as dams or rapids. Anglers must also comply with directions set by the tournament director for no wake zones or off limit areas.
Prizes and tied positions: The cash prize amounts awarded at each event will be determined according to the number of teams participating. If there is a tie for a position, the award for that position and the award for the subsequent position will be tallied and divided equally between the 2 teams that are tied.
Team of the year: The team of the year prize will be awarded based on the cumulative weight of the 4 qualifying tournaments. Only the teams that register and pay for the series in full, prior to the start of the season will be eligible for the team of the year.
Sportsmanship: It is mandatory that all participants behave professionally and respectfully while acting with utmost integrity at all times. Any behavior that could negatively impact the reputation of the organization could be cause for disqualification or suspension. Participants must follow provincial laws, be respectful to the environment and follow league rules. No alcoholic beverages or drugs will be tolerated during tournament hours.
Complaints: Competitors who would like to lodge a complaint must appear before Stephane Ranger or Eric Fontaine before weighing their fish. The witnesses must justify that an infraction of tournament rules or provincial law been committed.
Interpretation of rules and regulations: All decisions rendered by the organizing committee are final and not subject to appeal. The committee reserves the right to appoint an observer at any given time during the events.
Distance between boats: It is strictly forbidden to fish within 25 feet of another competitor's boat
Substitutions: Substitutions are allowed for regular season events without penalty as long as the replacing angler is a member of the immediate family of the team receiving a substitution. A team that wishes to replace an angler with someone who is not a member of the immediate family will have the weight for that tournament not count for team of the year purposes.
Substitutions for the classic will be permitted in certain cases but the replacing angler will need to be a member of the immediate family and the substitution will need to be approved by the executive team prior to the event.
